IGG iZone

Well we should thanks to Hasbro who launch on america its line of toys based on japanese robotic toys which was able to transform in other things. But transformers were popular for the 80s cartoon which made the toy business more productive. But there was others who use this strategy like Dinoriders and GI Joe, where the cartoon sold the toys that every kid needed to have XD.

The transformers cartoon was produce by Sunbow Productions wich contract Toei Animation to do the proper animation in 1984, a lot of japanese background here <_< .

The comic in the other hand came first, its Marvel copyrighted and creates its own story background, when the cartoon comes out it doesnt follow that original story and make its own storyline.

More Than Meets the Eye

So in the cartoon Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, the Decepticons star a war against the Autobots (they dont say the reason by the way XD, just global domination), although they are the same race. There is no more energy resorce left on its planet Cybertron, so the autobots go on a mission to find more but the Decepticons follows them and in the middle of the battle they crash on a planet. Four mollion years later they awake in no other place than Earth, they reactivate copying the human machines but the Decepticons mission isnt change, finding a new energy resource to create an ultimate weapon to conquer the universe and eventually find out if Cybertron still exist XD. The new energy resource is of course petroleum (it seams like the transformers are not nature friendly using fossil fuel <_< ), but they use electricity too or whatever earthling fuel or mineral, to transform them into Energon. You can see the first episode here:

The series had 65 episodes divided in four seasons, after the season two a movie where realised in theatres where Optimus Prime dies, this didnt like to the kids of course, so he was revived in season three. I dont live in USA so i didnt know how it felt back then go to the theather to wach a movie from the cartoon that you love, but i know some one who can tell you, here is James from cinemassacre.com with his experiences told on this movie review:

 The animated movie

I saw the movie on TV and let me tell you it has a lot of hand work, the final battle like last 15 min. of the movie are just incredible. And it has those 80s flashy japanese lighting effects that i love and you dont see them any more.

After the movie and with the introduction of new characters, the series ends on season four in 1987. But in 1988 comes a season five which was a selection of fifteen previous episodes of the series and five episodes edited from the movie.

 HeadmastersSuper God MasterforceVictory

Transformers Zone

In japan this wasnt the end, there were more series: Transformers: The Headmasters (1987), Transformers: Super-God Masterforce (1988), Transformers: Victory (1989) and Transformers: Zone (1990).

Then in 1993 the series was re-aired with modifications on the name of Tranformer: Generation 2 with a new toy line under the arm.

Beast WarsBeast WarsBeast Machines

And then comes a big parenthesis on the series with the creation of a new universe of transformers, going from animated big metal robots to real size 3D generated organic animals, totally opposite which means boooring, i saw 1st season of beast machines and didnt want to see more, i prefer Shadow Riders back then. They were: Beast Wars (1996), Beast Wars II (1997), Beast Wars Neo (1998) and Beast Machines (1999).

 Robots in Disguise

But in 2001 Optimus Prime comes back in Transformers: Robots in Disguise series with 39 episodes. This series after 9/11 attack on US suffer censorship and some episodes didnt get aired on USA but UK (and japan of course).

Transformers ArmadaTransformers EnergonTransformers Cybertron

Then after the Unicron Trilogy comes and the transformers never was soo alive since they debut. This trilogy came in three seasons: Tranformers: Armada (2003), Tranformers: Energon (2004) and Tranformers: Cybertron (2006) but with problems of translation quality.

Transformer Animated

Finally Transformers Animated came in 2007 after the motion picture creating a new star point on transformers story and veeeeery different visual style. Is animated garbage <_< , sorry.

Transformers Movie Poster

But what about the transformers film? Well they make a huge event for this and the movie became the thirtieth most successful film ever released, but the transformers fan community didnt receive it well. Why? because its a human centred movie not transformers and Optimus Prime have a funny mouth XD . But lets hear James opinion:

Well, this is it. Thanks for reading. I dont see the second movie yet. But guess who does XD ................. yes !!! James does, so if you want too hear his opinion, do it under your own risk.
